Proper Sound Originals is our home for exclusive designs inspired by Northern music, iconic imagery and the places that shaped it. From playful takes on Northern slang and creative interpretations of iconic album artwork to respectful tributes celebrating Ian Curtis, Joy Division and the region’s musical heritage, every design is crafted to tell a story.
A limited commemorative white T-shirt created to mark what would have been Ian Curtis’ 70th birthday on 15 July 2026.
The front features a monochrome photograph by Kevin Cummins, accompanied by the words A Blindness That Touches Perfection. The reverse carries a restrained typographic tribute reflecting on Curtis’ enduring legacy and influence.
Created as part of a special Mac 51 and Proper Sound project celebrating Northern music, photography and cultural history.
